Each day this week, we're looking at the day by day unfolding of the Passion Week. Today, Jesus visits the Temple in a preview of upcoming events.
"First impressions matter, don't they? For whatever reason, we enter a room and want to make the right impression with the right people. You know what? So, did Jesus. It's just that Jesus wasn't using His first impressions to please the "important" people - instead, He wanted the "others" to know that they were important to God."

SUMMARY
On the way to the temple, Jesus sees and curses the fig tree. Jesus clears the temple and declares it to be a house of prayer. They return to Bethany.
FOR REFLECTION
Read Isaiah 42:1-4 … For years before Jesus’ arrival on the earth, righteousness was grossly ignored. And yet, as the Servant God chose, Jesus arrived on earth to ensure that justice would ultimately be served. The Temple was the beginning, but the Moment of Justice was coming.
Jesus, we trust in You … You stuck up for the neglected at the Temple, bringing justice to the nations since they were intended to come to God. May we forever remember the price You paid that justice would be done.
